The first meeting of our sea transport commission was held first on March 21th at River port Edouard Herriot in Lyon, member of the following network : http: //www.medlinkports.fr/
An expert group worked on various topics under the leadership of our country facilitator in charge of Health at HAROPA Port of Le Havre. 4 workshops will follow:

  • Roles of the various actors in the chain,
  • Economic approach, including the share of drugs and diagnostics as a percentage of the temperature-controlled transportation by
  • Reefer 2/8 ° C as well as 15/25 ° C
  • Various operational processes on the port terminals and on board ships
  • Regulatory aspect addressing the deployment of Good Distribution Practices of Health products in sea transport

Whether in terms of dedicated infrastructure or human investment, there are still big differences compared to other modes of transport, especially air transport. The actors have agreed that the knowledge gap would slowly be reduced as the shipowners, become more visible with a vertical Healthcare dedicated offer, in parallel to harmonization.
The next meeting is set on 31/05 in Paris before other events such as port visit and a conference scheduled in September.
